The time honored tradition of DeWitt High School Homecoming is upon us. All the hype and excitement generated by students at school this week has reached the pinnacle!
To help celebrate this special occasion, I'd like to invite all our players to join us in Friday's festivities, beginning with the homecoming parade. The club will provide candy and a few other fun items to distribute. However, it wouldn't hurt to send some additional candy, as it tends to run out rather quick.
Player drop-off and pick-up traffic must originate from Clark Road into the north or student parking lot at the high school. All other roads through DeWitt Public Schools campus will be closed.
We ask that our players dress warmly with their blue jerseys and arrive between 3:50-4:00pm at the DSC fields. From there we will collectively walk to the tennis courts and into our parade starting position (#23).
The parade begins at 5:00pm and will follow the usual route down Panther Drive to Herbison Rd; up to Schavey Rd and across to Schavey Elementary; then back towards the tennis courts. Both the route and participant expectations can be found here.
Following the parade we will gather in the North parking lot (pool entrance) at the high school where players can be picked up.
Everyone is encouraged to stick around after the parade to enjoy the various events offered, including our very own boys varsity soccer team, as they take on Petoskey at 7pm. I've enclosed a copy of the flyer shared earlier this week by DeWitt Athletics that highlights each event. Please note the cash only reference.
Let's make tomorrow a fun and memorable night. Go PANTHERS!
