AGENDA

  1. Coaches Meeting – called to order at 7:05 p.m.

- Format for registration – same as in previous years, except updated registration fees and ref fees, roster sizes

Forms are on the CASL web site along with directions

- Soccer Club fee – adjusted to take in our DOC – tentative; will let the coaches know if it will change, but use the numbers to

- Questions re: two teams in an age group – will be based on the numbers that show up and whether it is realistic to form two teams – will have to decide each team on an individual basis

- Chuck has received many phone calls re: two teams

- 340 AYSO registrations with 40 noting trying out for U9.

- Dan Yingling – minimum roster for U9 is 8 players (down from 9)

- Board will decide whether there will be two teams in a particular age group

Can we set a date on when coaches will notify parents – typically July 1 is the earliest date – can’t force the kids to make a decision before July 1

- need coaches to sign up to evaluate for other teams

Will Shawn be present at tryouts?

Will he have suggested drills to run for all groups or do coaches decide?

Chuck is passing on to coaches any communications re: people requesting make up tryouts and he’s up to date on passing that information on

Chuck does not need to know when the make up date is set; coaches can set their own dates for make up tryout; coaches need to make arrangements for evaluators at the make up tryout

Coaches contact Chuck for numbered jerseys needed for tryouts

Recommend 2 evaluators in addition to the coach.

Anticipated assistant coaches are not to be on the field at tryouts.

Two teams – special meeting will need to be called

To name coaches and how the teams are formed.

Dan Y. – don’t draw names out of a hat because positions need to be taken into consideration

People who didn’t meet deadlines for submitting coaching letters – this is a consideration

Taking younger players

DSC rule is three players playing up (CASL rule is different)

If players are not playing in a premier league certified in MSYSA, then the dual roster players on teams that are not certified premier teams are able to make the DeWitt team the primary team

There is a limit of 3 dual rostered players limited to a team

DSC coach has the discretion to decide not to take any players seeking to dual roster

Mike Powell may be substitute coach for Dan Schaeffer

- well project

- email from Jack Schneider: Well Issue:

I can get a hold of Dee if you wish regarding the well. Just have someone let me know and I will get the money ready if the Board wishes to borrow the funds. If the Board does, please have someone make a motion and approve that decision. If they wish to pre-set a loan limit.....say $15M... that is fine.

I have not read the By Laws yet, but I am assuming they provide authorization to the Pres/Treasurer to act once the board gives an approval.

May not take a loan out now

Balance in the Cash account - $33K + another $2K-$3K from golf outing

4x4 account is ~$2700 not including $1100 check from Mark K. + money to be turned over by Angie

For the lights, still have three payments of $15K

Should not take out loan for well and will refinance if necessary, but another

Chuck moves that DSC pay a maximum of $10K from general account to pay for the well, seconded by Dee – motion passes unanimously.

9) Dave Barnhill
