Will e-mail Tony a copy of our by-laws this week for the Web site.

Also, received an e-mail from Terri Bailey asking for a check regarding 1/2 of the deposit for team uniforms. I have not sent her anything. It was my understanding that the teams were dealing with her on an individual basis. The deposit should be made by each team. The club should not be in the position of financing the obligations of the individual teams. Please let me know if I am supposed to be doing anything further regarding this.

B. New Business

Club Uniforms – sizes, printing, logos, availability, cost

- teams making it in there

- cost issues – adult uniforms will be more expensive by $10 ($65 child, $75 adult)

- supply and demand – straight neck v. v-neck à supply and demand

- sock price discrepancy – ordered with uniform quoted $6 if order now, if order in the spring will cost $9

- number color will be? White jersey = blue number; blue jersey = white or yellow to bring DeWitt colors back to the uniform and look less like East Lansing; Each board member prefers yellow numbers

- availability of white jerseys – back ordered until November???

- putting logo on uniform will be $10 per uniform, Soccer Locker can get the printing done in 48 hour period – will bid it to BLT for price comparison – put logo or number on short? (Chuck will check with BLT) (146 uniforms ordered by Terri)

- teams will pay the board and the board will pay Terri

- next year tell the coaches about the uniforms available, etc., fewer teams to deal with

- same cost – have Terri do it – who pays for putting on the decal.

Patches – each team gets patches for team members

- each team gets 1 patch per player and 1 patch per player per tournament

- thanks to Tony for his work in getting them done

Merchandise availability – towels, decals, shirts, pullovers, patches, etc.

- sale at 4x4

- Terri Murdoch doing sweatshirts (crew)

- High school is having a clothing drive

- Dave showed the logo

- lots of clothes, jackets, hats, towels, blankets

- submitted for approval to 4x4 committee

- DSC will get a kick back from her sales

- DSC to sell decals($5), patches ($3) – both for $6

(Tony – add the info to web site)

- available to order on web site

Communication/decision making process for time sensitive issues (i.e. U11 Girls team)

- calling tree – pager, cell phone, email

- designate a point of contact by issues and rep on board

- need a back up in case person doesn’t feel they are getting an adequate response – Dave Barnhill

U12 Girls team moving to Michigan Champions League

- Two ways to look at it – Tom’s (Toni did what she had to do, we need to support her) or Dave’s (Toni abused her position as a board member)

- Tom requests a letter from CASL stating their position in writing

- Board member taking advantage of position according to Dave

- According to Toni – She acted only as a coach and did not disclose that she was a board member and Chuck took advantage of his position as a DSC board member in calling the MCL president to discuss Toni’s team

- Chuck claims he did it as an individual, then as a CASL rep

- Concerns that CASL could kick us out of the league

- not likely as a business decision and loss of money

- Teams who don’t have an option for Elite league may want to play in MCL

- Dave asks why Toni called CASL board members and not DSC

- Toni didn’t get all info until 7:00 p.m. that evening and sent out application overnight

- Dave has spoken with others and they are supportive of it

- Dave went to CA registration meeting – noticed there was a DeWitt team and was questioned – no response

- Chuck received emails re: the issue – no response

- CA United wonders why the girls didn’t tryout for CA United

Toni responds:

- wanted to stay together in DeWitt

- play for "DeWitt"

- do not want to pay the excessive charges

- do not want to travel to Lansing to practice

- DeWitt Soccer Club logo and name removed from the web site

- list only DeWitt Dashers

- not yet – wait until discussion as an entire board

- tabled until the next meeting with all members

- Dave and Toni take discussion off line
