Meeting minutes – Wednesday, May 19, 2004

 

Board members present: Wendy Embs, Mark Kellogg, Chuck Murdoch (acting president), Angie Schneider, Larry Tait, Tony Harris, Toni Harris, Tom VanderWoude

Visitors: Mark Helinski

Meeting called to order: 7:45 p.m.

 

 

AGENDA

A. Reports and Old Business

  1. Mark Kellogg – Treasurer’s Report

 

  1. Chuck Murdoch – CASL Rep

*** Tom will communicate to all coaches that they must have their E-license after coaching for one year

- voting on U9 and U10

U9 Boys – Kirk Beck

U9 Girls – Keith Rospond and Wendy Embs put their names in;

- Wendy Embs recommended

U10 Girls – Dave Kracko

U10 Boys - find one after tryout

Angie moves that all recommended coaches be approved; seconded by Mark; unanimously passed

- Coaches meeting – TBD – tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 9 at 7:30 at Conference Center

- Not all communities have committed to having U9 teams (need at least 4 teams)

- If there are not enough teams to make a full U9 league, the U9 teams will play each other and the lower U10 teams per coach input.

- Need to anchor down large goal U10 field – else teams will have to forfeit

- At coaches meeting, require each team to have a parent come to the DeWitt Soccer Club 4x4 or golf meeting

- develop a calendar to schedule special meetings with specific agenda and have the parents attend early, then leave

  2. - first meeting last week

    - will set up regular times for the rest of the summer

    - Lisa drafted a letter for coaches meeting so teams know their responsibilities for the 4x4

    - applications will go out before school is out and will be distributed at tryouts, will also be placed on the web site.

    - needs volunteers for referee committee (Mark Helinski will head it up - 668-0806; mahelinski@aol.com)

    - concessions folks need info re: Gartside Dairy, Culligan, Coca-cola (Diane or Mark Thomas); CISCO

  6. - Coaches training – will attend coaches meeting

    - soccerzone camp – few sign ups

  7. Dave Kracko - Fields
  8. - Will paint fields before the weekend.

    - New growth at Fuerstenau and High School

    - Need irrigation over summer

    - Will purchase fertilizer from field tech in spring and early fall

     

     

     

  9. Angie Schneider - Golf Tournament Report

- A cart sponsor for each cart

- Dandee printing – need recognition

- Need board member to do sponsorships

- have 12 teams (17 last year)

- require/encourage the soccer teams to put together a team or two

 

 

 

 

B. New Business

Wendy moves to vote in Dave Kracko as board member, responsible for fields; Tony seconded, motion passes unanimously
