Meeting minutes – Wednesday, February 18, 2004

Meeting called to order: 7:30 p.m.

Review meeting minutes from January, 2004

AGENDA

A. Reports and Old Business

  1. Mark Kellogg – Treasurer’s Report – no report

- will have this information by the next meeting

- Jack wants another 5/3 person to deal with DSC for better interest rate on loan

- needs checking account to be moved over to 5/3 as form of collateral

 

  1. Chuck Murdoch – CASL Rep
  2. - Will reimburse for E license up to $50

    - Will not reimburse for any other license

    - U9 division in USSF for ’04-‘05

    - CASL camp with premier coaches during summer ‘04

    - Coaches meeting March 11, 7:00 p.m. at Hanna Center

  10. Soccer Zone Summer Camp

    I have most of the details from SZ but not all. Still waiting for them to set their rates. I will get this info out when I get it.

    - AYSO referee training – March 13th

    - young adults encouraged for ref training and understanding rules of the game

  11. Angie Schneider - Golf Tournament Report
  12. - Sending letter to prospective DSC supporters for both golf and 4x4

    - Sending letter to past DSC supporters for both golf and 4x4

    - Need Bob Russo’s help as promised to make phone calls

    - Finalized date with Kirk – Friday, May 21 at Shotgun scramble at 9:30

    - 2100 fliers printed (1400 for schools after approval by superintendent)

    - send out fliers in early March

    - helpers encouraged

    - get golfers!!!!

    - mail fliers to last year’s golf team leaders

    - reminder phone calls two weeks after mailings

    - need coaches’ emails to start sending meeting minutes and reminders

  13. Wendy Embs - USSF Representative Report

- Toni spoke with Wendy prior to the meeting and volunteered to take over duties.

- Chuck offered during meeting to help as part of his responsibilities as CASL rep

- Registration information turned in timely

- not as smooth as fall - HINT HINT HINT (noted per Wendy) – for spring registration, direct coaches to give ballpark idea for fees including spring fees and include said fees in fall and getting information to coaches in fall re: spring registration (some coaches forget about info for spring and forget to collect money from parents, then late in turning in spring registration)

- Doesn’t want to vote on U9 team issue

- Coaches to send Tony information about team info

 

B. New Business

Terri Bailey – discussion re: club uniforms

- Each team would be in charge of their own uniform

- Full uniform – shorts, jersey (Cosmos line), socks, alternate jersey with logo and number < $60 for a uniform that has a 4 year shelf life

- 25% off retail

- in-house numbering and embroidery (same press used by BLT’s)

- uniform chosen by club would not be duplicated for any other club

- Bag and warm ups are optional – can be provided with logo, number and name

- Has capability to get personalized socks

- uniforms and socks kept in-stock by 10% overage for the club

- place mock order April 1st, roster information by July 1st

- logo can be done ahead of time

- recommends Adidas (or Diadora)

- Adidas may provide complimentary coach clothing

- use soccer club crest on uniform, patches, towels

- need color scheme – recommend white w/navy original jerseys (maybe gold number and gold crest)

- alternate jersey

- long sleeve mock turtleneck with ball or panther

- keeper jersey

- For March meeting, Terri will bring sample uniforms, alternates (short sleeve and long sleeve mock turtleneck), warm ups, and a sheet of prices for individual prices (ranging from $50-$100)

- bring children as models

- bring logo samples

- Socks

- DeWITT logo

- Invite coaches to uniform selection
